What You Believe About Creation Really Does Matter
The creation is an integral part of Christianity. The fundamental verse of all scripture is Genesis 1:1,
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. No matter how you read that God was the creator of all things. Everything that has ever been, emerged from Him. He created the whole universe from nothing. Hebrews 11:3 declares, by faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
John 1:1-2 goes even further by saying, in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the Word was God and the same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him and nothing was made that was not made by him. It is imperative that we believe God created all things and that He created man in his own image. Male and female were created to rule or have dominion over all the other creatures God had made.
We trust the scripture that creation took place in the very way Genesis describes it. Seven literal days, and God saw that it was good. The Sabbath was instituted as a day set aside for God and the early church began to meet on the first day of the week, commemorating the Resurrection of Jesus. We must believe the admonition of scripture about the creation of all things or we denigrate the infallibility of the Bible. So many truths rise from this foundational belief. 1. The God that created all things and was before time, being the one true God, created time and space. All others would be usurpers or simply man-made ideas. 2. Creation implies the supremacy of mankind having dominion over the birds and animals. It was Adam that named the animals that God created. 3. God has the sovereign right to make decisions and act accordingly. His plan for mankind would be the most appropriate plan the satisfaction and fulfillment of all people. 4. God created male and female. 5. God through His son, Jesus Christ, purchased our salvation in the heart of God before the foundation of the world. Christ was the complete representation of God to mankind. John 1:18, No man has seen God at any time, the only begotten son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. 6. God has a claim as Creator on every life. Every person has the ability to accept or reject Him as He through creation gave us the choice to choose. What you believe about creation really does matter. He is the Creator of all things, changes how we view life and how we respond in this life.
